If you’re looking for a place to get connected to your
community, share your unique talents and skills, or get a start on those
4,000 hours President Bush talks about in the quote above, this is the
right place to start.

Montcalm County Volunteer Connections was formed in 2000
as a program of the United Way of Montcalm County. Our mission is to
“match people and resources to address community challenges in Montcalm
County.”

You will find many ways you can get involved and really
make a difference, from working with Habitat for Humanity to build homes,
to mentoring a child, or making phone calls to shut-ins.

No matter what you decide to do, you will not only be
addressing a real need, but you will also get a lot in return. Just ask
other people about volunteer service and they well tell you:
-
it’s fun
-
you get to meet new people
-
you will gain a sense of accomplishment
-
it’s a great thing to do with family and friends
-
it looks good on high school, college, and job
applications
-
it is something new to do
-
it makes you feel good about yourself
-
you get to explore new areas of Montcalm County
-
you learn new skills
-
you can make a difference
